Twitter was used to send messaging to people looking for fun things to do and holiday live events in New York City sponsored by a well known credit card company. The brand recognition and use of their slogan was helpful in gaining traction and interest in their events. Setting demographic parameters and interest targeting were important in reaching the intended audience, which was a younger demo. Twitter used as a marketing channel was appropriate for concise, lighter messaging than the search engines and creating buzz around the events with people’s comments.
